Now it is getting exciting as the 2010 World Cup approaches. New great ads will be coming out and here is another great one. It is a repeat performance by U2 from their previous ESPN collaboration back in 2006 World Cup in Germany. This time U2’s anthemic “Where the Streets Have No Name” is the backdrop to the story of a South African Prison known as Robben Island and how football created hope and help change their country’s history. The track is also enhanced by African music subtly added to the mix. Is it just me or does “Where the Streets Have No Name” have the best intro to any song with a great crescendo. It lends itself well to any soundtrack. I added the commercials credits as I think often the people behind great ads rarely get the credit they deserve.
