Legendary rock start Rod Stewart has no shame in expressing his love for football and his Celtics.
A day after celebrating their 125th anniversary, Celtic earned what is being hailed as one of the club’s greatest ever victories in a 2-1 Champions League win against Barcelona. The occasion proved to be all too much for long-time Celtic supporter Rod Stewart to handle and after the final whistle blew, he wiped up tears of joy as he watched from the stands.
Celtic got out to an early 1-0 lead in their previous group match against Barcelona before losing 2-1 on a Jordi Alba goal in added time. This time, Barca maintained a whopping 84 percent of possession and had an injury-time goal from Leo Messi, but Celtic still managed to hold on. And now Rod Stewart’s face is damp with appreciation.

Sick of the usual ‘guess the score’ and ‘who’s going to win’ formulas, we created our own football tournament to coincide with the Euros. But instead of asking our fans to guess the score, we asked them to vote for which country had the hotter women. We also stumbled on another classic insight: women ask really silly questions during football matches. With that in mind we created several videos and encouraged our fans to reply to the videos to help the ladies understand.

Nike Russia and Instinct creative agency presented a new video featuring Spartak Moscow football club players. It coincides with the beginning of a new football season in Russia which the Spartak players will spend wearing a new kit developed for them by Nike.

Kits in red are traditional for the club. On the reverse side the inscription “Spartak forever” is made under the club emblem, near the heart. It symbolizes the players’ and fans’ devotion to the club.

“Football is one of our key categories, we build our brand around it. We convey our values and philosophy to fans through football clubs and players to enhance our communication with all our supporters. This campaign is based on the “My time is now” concept which reflects the uncontrollable determination of a player to unlock his potential and show what he is capable of. The gladiator motive is not just the team symbol, but also a manifestation of its essence and principles. It was important for us to find a solution that would keep the football authenticity and reveal the gladiator idea through bright and strong means of expression. 1990 FIFA World Cup – Italy

In 1990 the FIFA World Cup held in Italy gave us the official anthem “Un’estate italiana” which translates english to “To Be Number One”. The song is sung by Italian artists Edoardo Bennato and Gianna Nannini. West Germany (yup it was still West Germany in 1990) beat Argentina 1-0 at Stadio Olimpico in Rome, it was also the World Cup game Diego Maradona would lace his cleats up for.

The 1994 FIFA World Cup Official Anthem fittingly entitled “Gloryland” was sung by Daryl Hall and Sounds of Blackness. Personally one of my favorite tournaments, sadly it ended painfully for me as Brazil beat my mighty Italians in penalty kicks as I watched two of my favorite footballers (Roberto Baggio and Franco Baresi) put their kicks over the goal.

In 1998 the FIFA World Cup held in France featured the Official Anthem song by Dario G., song title is “Carnival De Paris.” How could anyone forget Zinedine Zidane 2 goals and a third by Emmanuel Petit as we watched France beat Brazil to win the 16th World Cup and the home countries first ever FIFA World Cup.

Un-Officially Ricky Martin’s song La Copa de la Vida (La Cancion Oficial de la Copa Mundial, was equally popular during the 98 World Cup, watch it below.
